'They have the body of a slaughtered woman. They have a half-naked man standing over her. They have no idea how to make him talk.'

As far as thrillers go, I reckon that's quite a good way to start a book.

Alex Rourke is a former FBI agent, now working as a private eye, when he's called back to his hometown to help solve a murder. Whilst delving back into his past, meeting his old high-school sweetheart and other old friends, he tries to interrogate the main suspect of the murder, who seems to know a lot about Alex. As the past and present start to merge, more murders are committed and eventually present and past collide violently as Alex solves the murder. I'm trying not to give away too much of the plot, for that you'll have to read it yourself, but the book had me hooked until the end.

If you're looking for an easy-to-read thriller that is well-paced and entertaining, this could be the book for you.
